District Heating & Cooling Transfer Stations

Stations provide the link between energy suppliers and customers’ systems. They incorporate the necessary equipment to tailor the supplied heat to the needs of the object premises as specified in the heating supply contract.

In this they need to comply with all applicable standards and with the supplier’s technical connection conditions. Indirect connections (in which district heating and in-house systems are hydraulically isolated) incorporate components to separate the systems (heat exchanger), to limit the flow volume to that specified in the contract, regulate the secondary supply temperature and measure the energy consumption.


The DSE Flex is designed to your needs in advance, assembled in factory conditions and then delivered, pre-assembled and ready to connect to the system. The controls are pre-wired for quick and simple installation to the network or left out of the station to enable building management contractors to control it externally.

NovoCon® (AB-QM NovoCon® DN10 to DN250)

NovoCon is a high accuracy IOT multi-functional fieldbus actuator. Specifically designed for use in combination with the Pressure Independent Control Valve type AB-QM, NovoCon is available in sizes from DN10 to DN250 and used in terminal unit applications such as Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, Chillers and distribution station applications.

  • Hydronic bus actuator: Communication standards for (BMS) BACnet MS/TP & Modbus RTU
  • Connected input / output device: Remote operation through NovoCon® fieldbus. As a result, with reduced overall installation cable needs & simplified installation, savings are made possible to control a range of different sensors via NovoCon
  • Flow indicator: Integrated & highly accurate flow setting & monitoring allows for digital commissioning, flushing & de-airing
  • Energy management: NovoCon advanced measurement algorithms allows for continuous hydronic system improvement, management of maximum power control, minimum & maximum temperature management, energy monitoring & indication
  • Predictive maintenance: A complete set of remote alarms & warnings are available over fieldbus to determine the status of NovoCon, ABQM & the HVAC system

The new online Digital Design Centre (DDC) from Danfoss provides a one-stop resource for specifying Danfoss product solutions for heating and cooling, DHW, district energy networks and electrical heating.
