Energy saving and engineering excellence are the hallmarks of Uniflair’s latest generation of stylish air conditioning units, designed for the cooling of comms rooms, co-location and data centres, UPS rooms and any environments which need year-round precise control of operating conditions, 24 hours/day.

Electronic Expansion Valves & Low Energy EC Fan Motors

Leonardo Evolution not only features class-leading coefficients of performance (COPs) at summer design conditions, combined with the high sensible cooling ratios required for this type of application, it also saves energy at lower ambient temperatures thanks to the fitting of electronic expansion valves as standard. In a typical UK data centre this provides a reduction in annual cooling energy consumption of another 7 to 8% on average.

Direct drive fans eliminate transmission losses and specifiers are now offered the option of EC fan motors which provide average savings across the range of 45% in fan power consumption. This is especially significant in chilled water installations. Up to 35% further energy savings can be had with water cooled Leonardo units exploiting the free cooling effect and cycling compressors off whenever the coolant from the external dry coolers is below the room temperature.

Reduced Width for Compact Spaces

As well as air or water cooled direct expansion, chilled water and free-cooling glycol cooled versions, there is also Twin-Cool, with both DX and chilled water coils in the same unit, one as back-up for the other. All versions are available as upflow or downflow with a range of air return and discharge configurations. The width of the new models is dramatically reduced – a major benefit with the very high heat load densities now being encountered in new data centres.

Intelligent Free Cooling - Chillers

Built to the same high standards as the precision air conditioning units, the chiller range is equally well-suited to 24/7 or other applications where reliability is key. From 40kW up to 1.5MW, Uniflair created "Intelligent Free Cooling" to maximise energy savings whenever the ambient temperature is below the chilled water return temperature, including

• Huge free cooling coils, back-to-back with each condenser coil
• 10% reduction in main pump size (intelligent free cooling pump fitted on-board
• 40% additional free cooling from any "Intelligent" standby chiller

Energy Saving ‘Turbocor’ Chillers

Flagship of the comprehensive range of water chillers manufactured by Uniflair is the BCWC series, featuring oil-free variable speed Turbocor compressors with magnetic bearings. With full load EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) values typically in excess of 5.3 and ESEER values of almost 10, these chillers provide massive scope for energy savings, especially in 24/7 applications.

The choice of options throughout the Uniflair chiller range is vast: integral pump sets, built-in buffer tanks, heat recovery, free cooling coils, etc. so that each machine can be tailored to the customer’s specific requirements.
