Energy saving and engineering excellence are the hallmarks of Uniflair’s latest generation of stylish air conditioning units and precision water chillers, designed for the cooling of comms rooms, co-location and data centres, UPS rooms and any environments which need year-round precise control of operating conditions, 24 hours/day.

Leonardo Evolution

Leonardo Evolution not only features class-leading coefficients of performance (CoPs) at summer design conditions, combined with the high sensible cooling ratios required for this type of application, it also saves energy at lower ambient temperatures thanks to the fitting of electronic expansion valves as standard. In a typical UK data centre this provides a reduction in annual cooling energy consumption of another 7 to 8% on average.

Direct drive fans eliminate transmission losses and most specifiers now select the option of EC fan motors which provide average savings across the range of 45% in fan power consumption. This is especially significant in chilled water installations. Up to 35% further energy savings can be had with water cooled Leonardo units exploiting the free cooling effect and cycling compressors off whenever the coolant from the external dry coolers is below the room temperature.

Chillers with “Intelligent Free Cooling”

Built to the same high standards as the precision air conditioning units, the chiller range is equally well-suited to 24/7 or other applications where reliability is key. From 40kW up to 1.5MW, Uniflair created "Intelligent Free Cooling" to maximise energy savings whenever the ambient temperature is below the chilled water return temperature, including:

• Huge free cooling coils, back-to-back with each condenser coil
• 10% reduction in main pump size (intelligent free cooling pump fitted on-board)
• 40% additional free cooling from any "Intelligent" standby chiller

Energy Saving Inverter-driven

Chillers Latest innovation of the Uniflair range of chillers is the inverter-driven ISAC/F series which marries extremely precise control of chilled water temperatures with exceptional part load energy savings as exemplified by market-leading ESEER performance figures.

Intelligent free cooling is an option for additional savings on this series too.

Top of the range is the BCWC series, featuring oil-free variable speed Turbocor compressors with magnetic bearings. With full load EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) values typically in excess of 5.3 and ESEER values of almost 10, these chillers provide massive scope for energy savings, especially in 24/7 applications.

Optimisation Management

Not only are the individual air conditioning units and chillers market leaders in terms of energy saving, Uniflair goes further in offering innovative solutions for their management and control as part of complete systems. For example, in a chilled water system with Uniflair Master Control a tracking logic follows the heat load and varies the chilled water temperature dynamically in order to maximise operating COP and extend the periods in which free cooling is available.
