TROX UK Ltd
Terminal Units - Airconditioning - Multi Service Chilled Beams
TROX has a reputation for developing innovative terminal air
conditioning systems to satisfy the most challenging architectural
and building service applications around the globe.
Chilled Beams
TROX is a market leader in the development,
manufacture and supply of chilled beams. It offers a full range of
recessed and exposed active and passive beams that can be
incorporated into Commercial Office, Healthcare, Educational,
Industrial and Hotel projects.
Multi Service Chilled Beams (MSCB)
MSCBs are highly energy-efficient systems that
eliminate the need for suspended ceilings and reduce the building’s
minimum slab-to-soffit height to 2.8m. This means that a five-storey
building can be built to the same height as a traditional
four-storey building.
MSCBs encourage natural thermal cooling from the
exposed mass of the concrete ceiling soffit, and have lower capital
and whole-life costs compared to traditional fan coil systems.
They can accommodate future changes in space
requirements, integrating easily with alterations to partitioning
and layout.
The bespoke designed beams can incorporate;
cooling and heating, lighting, public address system, smoke
detectors, PIR sensors, BMS cables, voice and data cables, CCTV,
smoke sensors.
The multi service chilled beam flexibility in
design is enhanced by the fact that it is constructed from
architectural extruded aluminum sections which interlock to provide
an infinite range of shapes and apertures. With this flexibility
virtually all lighting systems can easily be incorporated into the
chilled beam.
TROX has extended the lighting options on its
MSCB range by adding a new high efficiency lighting option. The
lighting system was developed specifically for TROX by a market
leading lighting company to bring high-efficiency lens design to the
chilled beam market. It provides glare-free lighting with low energy
consumption whilst providing a lit ceiling in accordance with CIBSE
Lighting Guide LG7. The special satin effect micro-prism lens optic
hides any view of the lamp and gives a soft uniform light
distribution for a pleasingly lit working environment.
The whole luminaire is designed to maximise light
output, utilising lenses on both the underside and top to enclose
the lamp to allow it to reach optimum thermal operating conditions.
The light output is therefore unaffected by any discharge air
movement from the MSCB.
Fan Coil Units
Traditional air conditioning terminal unit that
combines with diffusers, for air conditioning offices, hotel rooms,
shops and restaurants.
TROX guarantees noise levels, as well as thermal
and aerodynamic performance, using a computer program that evaluates
optimum selections for the most cost-effective fan coil systems.
For maximum energy efficiency, TROX offers
variable air volume fan coil units with EC motors. These reduce the
air and water volume as the required temperature is achieved making
considerable energy savings.
Localised air conditioning units suitable for
heating and cooling are offered with individual room and zone
control. Water-side fan coil units designed to meet UK market
requirements, and are available in a range of horizontal or vertical
versions.
Air Distribution
Type SDW, an adjustable blade, high induction
swirl diffuser. It is available with square or circular face plates.
Type VSD, a high-capacity, high-induction linear
slot diffuser designed for perimeter office applications.
Individually adjustable barrels ensure maximum induction.
Type ADT, a traditional louvre-faced diffuser
with horizontal air discharge. A range of edge flanges ensures
successful ceiling grid integration.
Type ISM, allows integrated ceiling design, with
fittings that combine the air supply and lighting. PIR and movement
sensors, as well as sprinkler heads, may also be included.
Technical Expertise
Drawing on over 50 years of experience within the
construction industry, TROX’s dedicated design bureau offers
services ranging from initial briefing, outline proposals, detailed
design, laboratory testing, design approval and guarantee through to
construction implementation.
TROX involves architects, services consultants
and contractors early in design process to ensure that the finished
system will meet every requirement in terms of aesthetics,
performance, installation and cost-efficiency.
