A Building Energy Management System (BEMS) can
typically control 60-80% of a building’s energy usage. By optimising
the system i.e. getting it to perform consistently with the way a
building is used, significant energy savings can be made.
In order to identify what can be achieved, it is
important to understand the current situation within a building. A
Trend Energy Audit reviews the way the building is being used and
identifies opportunities where changes to the BEMS will deliver
energy savings. These changes can often be undertaken during the
audit, delivering immediate savings.
The outcome of any energy reduction programme
needs to be measured and monitored to ensure that savings are
maintained. Trend’s iMAT2 is a web based application that helps
building owners identify and understand what is really happening to
their energy consumption. Using iMAT2, a site can be monitored
remotely to measure and record the savings achieved. It also
provides notification when energy usage exceeds the expected demand.
Trend’s IQ EYE is a web based application that
remotely interacts with the Trend BEMS to highlight potential system
problems and to identify performance issues before equipment failure
or energy wastage occurs. IQ EYE is available as part of a service
agreement with Trend and our Partners.

features an intuitive user interface with graphical touchscreen
technology. Users can view all control functions including alarms
and logs, and profiles can be configured which enable users to log
on and see information that is specific to them.
