Armstrong
Armstrong designs and manufactures pumps and pump packages for water
management systems in the building services industry. Our pump
packages are manufactured off-site as an efficient alternative to
bespoke systems. By providing a pre-engineered system as a standard
product, Armstrong are able to reduce customer’s costs and
lead-times.
Pre-engineered Pump Packages
8000 Series and ARMPak are pre-engineered pumping
packages specifically designed for chilled water and hot-water
heating systems in commercial buildings. They are compact and easy
to install, as all pipework, suction and discharge headers,
fittings, electrical wiring, and control systems are supplied
pre-fitted. Packages can be easily configured using Armstrong’s
Pacakgeworx Software.
In addition to the convenience of a
pre-engineered pump package, specifiers have the flexibility to
choose any vertical in-line pump or end suction pump from the
Armstrong range. Vertical in-line pumps can be close-coupled or
split-coupled . Customers can choose from a two-, three- or
four-pump packages in a variety of header sizes ranging from 80 to
300mm.
Standard features of the 8000 Series ArmPak
include: Armstrong Suction guides and Flo-Trex Valves which provide
space and cost savings; isolation valves; and all pipework, suction
and discharge headers, fittings and electrical wiring.
Optional features include; a choice of IPS 3000,
5000 or 9000 control system; Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s); VFD
bypass; fixed speed motor starters and BMS interface.
Integrated Heating Package
The MBS Integrated Heating Solution is a fully
integrated commercial heating package for medium sized applications,
ranging from 120 to 320kW. It combines the functions of low NOx
gas-fired condensing boilers, intelligent variable speed circulating
pumps, automatic fill/top-up devices, expansion vessels, water
treatment dosing, PLC controls, piping, electrics and thermal
insulation in modules which are easily manoeuvred and connected on
site.
Control System
The Integrated Pumping System (IPS) can control
as many as 6 pumps in parallel, with up to 18 remote system load
sensors. It ensures delivery of the required capacity to match key
building loads, while keeping pumping energy costs to a minimum. The
IPS can interface with a building automation system, on Modbus®,
LonWorks, BACNet and MetaSys Open N2 protocols.
Sitework
Independent reseach by BSRIA has shown that
off-site manufacture of plant rooms can reduced the overall project
cost by as much as 24% compared to conventional methods. Off-site
manufacture also offers faster assembly and more streamlined
planning as weather constraints, skills shortages and other issues
related to on-site buildings are removed.
Armstrong delivers pump systems ready-assembled
on an agreed date, requiring minimal time and resources to complete
installation and commissioning.
