Packaged Pumping Solutions
Armstrong offers an extensive range of pre-configured pumping
packages designed with the customers needs at their core.
By undertaking partnering, Armstrong are able to anticipate customers’
needs and provide the best solutions. Many bespoke systems can increase
capital and running costs due to over-design. The 8000 Series has been
developed for maximum efficiency, which eliminates this initial and
continuous waste of revenue.
The 8000 Series range of packaged pumps extends from a compact 80mm
diameter 2 pump unit designed to fit through a standard single doorway,
up to a 300mm diameter 4 pump configuration with variable speed
intelligent pump system control. Each package can be fitted with End
Suction or Vertical In-Line pumps from the Armstrong range. Fully
packaged HVAC and fire plant rooms and other pre-assembled systems are
also available through Armstrong Integrated Systems Ltd.

Pressurisation Make-Up Units
Armstrong offers an extensive range of sealed system pressurisation
and make-up units and the most comprehensive customer choice available
in the market. With a commitment to maintaining market leadership in the
design of sealed system equipment, the company ensures that a solution
is available for all installations, from the small ‘retrofit’ market to
large commercial and industrial applications.
The glycol make-up unit has been rarely seen as a standard plant item.
It has usually been provided as a custom-built product. GLA houses all
the water/glycol make-up components in an enclosed unit with large
storage capacity yet small footprint. Available with single or
duty/standby pumps and an extensive options list for low and medium
pressure systems containing glycol.
Typically a fixed air-cushion vessel can utilize only about 25 to 35%
for acceptance of fluid expansion, whereas the Armex SAFE (Sealed
Acceptor for Fluid Expansion) receptacle has an acceptance in excess of
95%. Another key element of Armex is a transfer / control pumping
package which controls the movement of water between the heating or
chilled water system and the Armex SAFE receptacle.
Armex also introduces make-up water as required. In addition to the
clear space saving advantages of Armex, there is a definite cost
advantage over bladder tank alternatives where total fluid expansion
exceeds approximately 375 litres for installations requiring break
tanks, or 750 litres when filling is through a backflow preventor.
Fully Integrated Low Carbon LTHW Commercial Heating Solutions
The Armstrong MBS Integrated Heating Solution is a fully integrated
commercial heating solution for medium sized applications [120 kW (409
MBH) to 320 kW (1091 MBH)]. It combines the functions of low NOx gas
fired condensing boilers, intelligent variable speed circulating pumps,
automatic fill/top up device, expansion vessel, water treatment dosing,
PLC controls, piping, electrics and thermal insulation in modules which
are easily manoeuvred and connected on site. A 320 kW (1091 MBH), 5
module system can be assembled and ready for use in as little as 2
hours.
