Split Coupled Vertical Inline Pumps

Armstrong 4300 Starline Series Vertical In-Line pumps offer many advantages in terms of Value Engineering opportunities in heating and chilled water systems:

• Installation

Vertical In-Line pumps, being integral components of the pipework, eliminate the need for inertia bases, inertia base springs, flexible pipe connectors, field grouting and alignment. Pipe hangers, sized for the weight of the pump, piping and fittings, are the only supports required.

• Maintenance

The mechanical seal is the critical service item in any pump. Removal of the 4300 Starline Series split spacer coupling allows all mechanical seal components to be withdrawn for servicing, through the resulting space between pump and motor shafts, without disturbing other pump components or motor connections. Re-installing the rigid coupling brings the unit rotating assembly back to factory alignment specifications.

• Reliability

Dynamically balanced impeller and shaft assembly rotating vertically on the 4300 Starline Series centre-line means a quiet, long lasting pump with minimum vibration, as static shaft deflection is eliminated. There are no pump bearings to service in the Vertical In-Line design. The 4300 Starline Series is a reliable, time proven unit with less down time.

• Flexibility

Small footprint, low installation costs, reliable and easy to maintain. These features combined with a flow range in excess of 630l/s affirms the 4300 Starline Series as the most flexible pump design available.

IVS Sensorless Variable Speed Pumps

Armstrong has pushed the boundaries of technology in variable speed pumping with its award winning IVS Sensorless range of pumps. Sensorless control is a relatively new concept in glanded circulating pumping. The pump performance and characteristic curves are embedded into the memory of the speed controller during manufacture allowing it to establish the hydraulic requirement of the pump at all times without the need for external feedback signals.

Patented software technology within the controller ensures trouble free operation in all conditions. Incorporating the pumps hydraulic data into the controller and removing the need for a differential pressure sensor results in true integration of all components and removes the risk of sensor failure. IVS Sensorless technology is available with the majority of pump types including 4300 Starline Series and is eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA’s) as part of UK Governments Climate Change Program.

Packaged Water Booster Sets

Armstrong offer a complete range of fully packaged water booster sets that are specified to provide a compact and high quality solution where high efficiency and low noise are required. The range includes the 6800 IVS Series all variable speed booster set with ‘Soft Fill’ function for reduced hydraulic shock.
