Daikin Airconditioning UK Ltd Air Water Cooled Chillers
VRV
Daikin’s range of VRV systems is designed for large premises, making
them ideal for offices, leisure complexes, department stores, hotels and
hospitals. Daikin has manufactured the third generation of its VRV range
with the newly introduced VRVIII.
The new systems, whilst incorporating the best features of its VRVII
predecessor, represent a significant step forward in addressing both
existing and forthcoming environmental regulations and offer
consultants, contractors, service engineers and end users many design,
installation and maintenance-friendly refinements.
In heat-pump guise, VRVIII can operate up to 64 indoor units from a
single outdoor system (RXYQ40P or above). The line-up of 5, 8, 10, 12,
14, 16 and 18hp models is ideally suited to applications in smaller
facilities and minor expansions and upgrades. An extensive capacity
range starts at 5hp, and is then available from 8 to 54hp in 2hp
increments, meeting nearly all customer requirements concerning small to
large buildings, whether new or existing.
In heat-recovery guise, VRVIII offers simultaneous heating and cooling
operation from one system by diverting exhaust heat from indoor units in
cooling mode to areas requiring heating. Amongst its many benefits are
its easy installation facility due to automatic refrigerant-charging
operation, automatic test operation and its increased piping
flexibility: maximum piping length 165m, increased total piping length
1,000m.
The VRV-IIIS Mini VRV is available in small capacities, from 4, 5 and
6hp at 11.2 to 15.5kW. Nine indoor units can be connected to one outdoor
unit. The system has high COP values, silent operation, and is slim and
flexible in design.
Daikin’s water-cooled VRV-II, the VRV-WII, is an individual
air-conditioning system that utilises water as a heat source, and can
perform as heat pump or heat recovery. In this system, water is piped
from a cooling tower/dry cooler or boiler to the VRV-WII and, after heat
exchange, refrigerant is piped from the VRV-WII to each indoor unit. The
system offers freedom in design and installation, with virtually no
limitations on water piping length. The VRV-WII is compact and
lightweight enough to be installed inside buildings where space is
limited.
Daikin Air & Water Cooled Chillers
No matter how large the premises and whatever the air-conditioning
requirements, there is a Daikin chilled-water system to suit client
specifications. It is a system that has proved its worth in a
multiplicity of situations, from industrial sites to retail warehouses,
hotels and department stores. The careful development of closely matched
compressor/refrigerant combinations has enabled Daikin to produce
complete ranges of water chillers, genuinely optimised for use with
R134a, R407C and R410A refrigerants. As a result, Daikin currently has
more chillers qualifying for the Government’s ECA tax incentive scheme
than any other manufacturer.
Daikin’s chiller portfolio is essentially comprised of three ranges: the
air-cooled range, the water-cooled range and the condenserless range,
giving a combined capacity range of 5 to 1,920kW capacity. Air-cooled
chillers are most frequently used in the chilled-water market. Out of
its wide range of chillers in cooling-only and heat-pump versions, with
or without integrated hydronic components, Daikin offers a chiller
fitting the application requirements. Capacities run from 5 to 1,920kW,
with EER ratings of up to 3.2 and ESEER of up to 3.62.
Daikin also offers a wide range of water-cooled chillers which require
only a very limited space in a machine room. Used for commercial and
industrial applications, these chillers generate cold and hot water,
which can be used for chilling, heating or even both at the same time.
The water-cooled range can be further subdivided into three ranges,
giving a combined capacity range of 13 to 1,893kW, and includes a
flooded evaporator unit which has an ESEER rating of up to 7.4.
In addition, Daikin offers flexible and compact chillers with remote
condensers, which can be used to satisfy applications with special
requirements in the field of available space, sound level or extreme
operating conditions.
In these exceptional cases, remote condenser solutions can be preferred
over standard air-cooled or water-cooled solutions. Daikin chillers
offer excellent flexibility and control, a reflection of the advanced
technology inherent within them. These chillers are advanced in their
precision, power, low operating noise, easy maintenance and low running
costs.
Daikin chillers represent a sure and safe route to an indoor environment
that is comfortable, clean and consistent.
