Already well known as the market leader for domestic electric heating, Dimplex is also one of the market leaders in renewable energy and a major player in commercial heating and water heating.

Heat Pumps

Dimplex heat pumps are the energy efficient, environmentally sound heating system of the future, to provide a sustainable energy solution and significantly helping towards reducing energy bills.

Heat pumps use conventional refrigeration technology to absorb heat from the environment and then raise the refrigerant temperature to a level suitable for heating. A heat exchanger then extracts the heat from the refrigerant for the heating and/or hot water system. Up to 75% of the energy needed by the heating system can be extracted in this way, with the only running cost being electricity to drive the compressor. Put another way, for every 1kWh of energy needed to run the heat pump, up to 4kW of useful heat is provided, giving an efficiency of up to 400%. As a result, space and water heating carbon emissions are reduced by up to 50% compared with gas fuelled heating systems. There are also none of the safety and maintenance costs associated with other types of fuel and because the majority of energy comes free from the environment, running costs are relatively unaffected by fluctuating fuel costs.

Dimplex has the largest range of heat pumps in the UK across ground, air and water with many suitable for single phase installations. Selected models also have advanced features such as differing water temperature for different zones to ensure maximum comfort and efficiency, or a modem for remote diagnostics.

Ground source heat pumps collect heat from solar energy stored in the earth through collectors buried vertically or horizontally. They offer high efficiency year-round due to steady temperatures below surface level. The Dimplex range consists of over 25 models with nominal heating capacities from 5 - 130kW. Ground source heat pumps are for internal installation only.

Air source heat pumps use the ambient air to collect heat and can extract heat from air as low as -20ºC. Models are available for either indoor or outdoor installation and they don’t have the cost or space requirements of a ground collector, making them easier to install. With UK average winter temperatures of around 4ºC, average CoPs of 3-3.5 can be achieved. Air source heat pumps also have simplified design and installation, making the training requirements less specialized. The Dimplex range has heating capacities from 6 - 28kW.

Dimplex also has a network of fully trained installers to ensure all projects are properly designed and professionally installed.

Air Curtains

Air curtains work by separating two different temperature zones with an invisible curtain of air. They provide a fast moving air stream to block air movement through the door whilst allowing the door to remain open, reducing energy wastage and giving unhindered access. It is important to cover the full door width for maximum performance.

Dimplex offers an extensive range of electric, water-heated and ambient models, including the CAB and DAB surface and recess-mounted models, an ARC architectural range, and IAB industrial range.

The CAB range operates up to 3m from floor level, whilst the DAB range operates up to 4m and they come in a range of sizes to cover standard 1m, 1.5m and 2m door widths. However, their modular design means multiple products can be linked together to cover any door width.

The industrial IAB range is available in 1m and 1.5m units and designed for mounting up to 6m high making it ideal for large warehouses, factories and distribution centres.

The ARC architectural range is available in mirror polishes stainless steel or brushed stainless steel and can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It is designed for the most prestigious entrances.

All Dimplex air curtains are compatible with standard door switches and have a built-in electronic interface to standard building energy management systems. The CAB, DAB and ARC ranges can also be colour customised.

Water Heating

Dimplex has an extensive range of water heating products for both domestic and commercial installations.

For domestic installations, the SCx unvented cylinder range provides rapid-fill baths and showers to en-suite bathrooms and other domestic appliances at the same time. No cold-water storage tank is required saving valuable loft space, and the SCx provies the user with a long-life, low-maintenance hot-water supply.

The SU/SUTP small unvented under-sink water-heater range can be mounted under-sink or at any other convenient place near point of use and is available from 7 - 15 litres, providing thermostatically-controlled hot water up to 68°C at main pressure.

The mid-range has 30 - 75 litre capacities making it suitable for higher-usage installations such as commercial sinks, or as the prime hot-water supply storage and includes thermostatic temperature control and a direct connection to cold mains-water supply. All models have a stainless steel cylinder, covered by a 10 year manufacturer warranty.

The Ascari® system boiler offers wet central heating wherever there is a suitable mains electricity supply, and can be used in conjunction with standard radiators and programmers but requires no annual maintenance and safety checks. It comes complete with an 8 litre expansion vessel, 3 bar pressure release valves, and a 3 speed pump for quick and easy installation.
