AET - Advanced Ergonomic Technologies

PleinAir Underfloor Air Conditioning Systems

An all air underfloor VAV system using passive tile units and the revolutionary Air Fixture damper with Time Modulation control.

PleinAir Fan Powered Heater Units

Underfloor electric or water fan powered heater units for warming recirculated office air when boosted heating is required over and above any warmth provided by central or local plant. Ducts run from a heating/cooling terminal, through the heater and then on to another heating/cooling terminal for delivery of warmed air into the space. The fan powered heater units, which have the latest DC motors and plug fan technology, only run during the heating cycle.

The unit shown, UFE, is an electrically heated model and the nominal air flow ranges from 70 – 700 l/s.

Heat options range to 9kW in electric models or 1–2 row water coils.

PleinAir Heating/Cooling VAV Passive Tile Units

Variable Air Volume terminal units either deliver centrally or locally conditioned air direct from the plenum into the occupied space using high capacity induction grilles. The units incorporate a bespoke time modulation damper based on a 6 second cycle. This feature allows only a proportion of the units in each space to open at one time in low flow situations, so maintaining an acceptable velocity which overcomes the problem of poor air circulation normally associated with VAV systems.

Communication is via the PCC system – PleinAir Control Cabling – using BACnet IP and may be linked to a BMS.

There are several models which vary in performance and grille configurations. The model shown, VCH-SATG has a nominal capacity of 70 l/s from a square grille formed of two sections which can achieve a total of 16 different air patterns.

PleinAir Constant Volume Tile Units

The simplest of the PleinAir tile units, the constant volume models deliver conditioned air at the temperature and volume determined by the underfloor supply. The tile units come complete with a personal control adjustment and debris collection tray. Accessible from above, a knurled ring adjusts a damper under the grille allowing users to vary the airflow direction and volume. The tile units can be installed from above in a matter of minutes using the central Allen key feature.

The model shown, C-R200, may be supplied in 200mm or 250mm diameter (nominally a 25 l/s and 50 l/s supply respectively). Other grille shapes and configurations are available in a wide variety of finishes and colours.
