A Sustainable
Approach to Future Proofing HVAC System Design
This module identifies how HVAC equipment can be selected to accommodate future changes in building use and demand without compromising on energy efficiency or increased carbon footprint. Engineers will learn how to adopt a ‘Design Envelope’ approach to equipment sizing that reduces risk, negates the need for over-sizing and harnesses the latest in integrated variable speed technology.
Agenda :-
| The sustainability context | Climage change and energy consumption | |
| Reducing energy consumption | The design hierarchy | |
| Industry Challenges | ||
| Equipment Sizing | Part load versus design day | |
| The design envelope approach | Reduced risk and increased operating efficiency |
Key Learning Outcomes include :-
- How to simplify plant room
equipment selection without compromising on performance
- Reducing design risk without over-sizing equipment
- Ensuring high operating efficiencies at both design day and part load
operation
