Costs – the increasing price of refrigerant gas and emergency service call-out costs to find, detect and repair leaks including the wasted man-hours that can be incurred. Environmental issues - ozone layer damage, global warming and the green house effect – refrigerant gases are considered to be a major cause. Conforming to standards – current British and European Standards outline safety and environmental requirements.
