About Aico

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics - Europe’s leading manufacturer of mains powered Smoke and Heat Alarms - Aico Ltd. is the first name in residential fire protection in the UK. Aico currently outsells every comparable product on the market.

For more than 25 years, Aico has been supplying Ei life safety products to the housing and light commercial markets. All Ei alarms are designed and built in Ireland - specifically to meet UK standards and regulations - under the strictest of European quality controls and then subjected to the most stringent testing.

Aico offers high quality, high reliability mains-powered Optical Smoke Alarms, Ionisation Smoke Alarms, Heat Alarms and Multi Sensors. These are available with a choice of conventional battery or unbeatable 10 year plus Lithium cell back-up technology.

As well as being the UK’s leading residential fire detection company, Aico is also a market leader in providing the very best battery and mains powered Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarms and the extensive Firecap range of intumescent fire and sound protection covers, fire protection sleeves for electrical services and vapour and thermal seals for loft voids.

The company invests considerably in R&D to bring innovative technology that is also highly reliable - essential in life saving products. Latest additions include mains-powered 160e Series of Smoke Alarms and the Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm which come with RadioLINK+ for wire free alarm interconnection and system data extraction (e.g. number and location of alarms) which can be accessed securely from within or outside a property.

The Multi-Sensor has the added advantage of Aico’s award winning AudioLINK, which is also installed in all of Aico’s CO Alarms. With AudioLINK, real time data about the alarm – such as number of times tested and removed and alarm activation - can be simply and quickly extracted using the free AudioLINK app which translates the data into an easy to read Alarm Status Report.

But it’s not all about product. Aico believes the very best alarm technology should be accompanied by the best support possible, from specification to installation. It provides comprehensive literature and a web site with a free specification tool, an experienced technical sales team and a responsive sales office. Furthermore, Aico is committed to training with a fully equipped Centre of Excellence facility in Oswestry, Shropshire and the industry renown Expert Installer training scheme, which has trained more than 14,000 electrical contractors working for social housing providers on alarm system design, installation, standards & regulations.

Ultimately though, the secret to Aico’s strength in the market place actually comes from their customers. Aico works in partnership with social housing providers to fully understand the needs of landlords and their tenants. Aico takes the time to listen and to create products that solve problems.
