Hayling Hardwoods specialise in
solid and engineered Oak flooring which we import from leading manufacturers
in China. Our flooring is made with Oak from both Russian and European
forests and all of our products are sourced from manufacturers who have been
certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
Unlike our competitors we sell online and over the phone only, so can offer
much better prices than you would find on the high street or other websites.
And we hold large volumes of stock so we can delivery most orders with in
2-3 days of ordering. We also deliver throughout the UK including Scotland,
Wales, & the Channel Islands.
Our Solid Oak flooring contract range is available in Prime, Character and
Rustic grades and comes pre-finished with a scratch resistant UV Lacquer. We
also offer some Oiled and unfinished solid floors.
We supply engineered flooring from the Lamett European Grand planks
wide-board single plank flooring range. This is available in a range of
high-end distressed Oak finishes.
Installation & care
All of their solid wood flooring is kiln-dried and has a moisture content of
between 8-10%. It should not be exposed to high levels of humidity and
moisture.
Installation checklist:
Sub-floor should be level. If installing onto an existing wooden sub-floor,
ensure all boards are fixed down properly.
Moisture content of sub-floor should not exceed 2.5%.
50-65% relative humidity in rooms which flooring is to be laid
To allow the wood to acclimatise we recommend leaving the packs on site for
7-10 days prior to installation
If you are planning to install onto under-floor heating, we recommend that
the wood is allowed to acclimatise on site for 5-6 weeks at room
temperature.?
If possible we recommend laying the floor onto a plywood sub-floor of up to
18mm.
If secret nailing to wooden battens, these should be placed at 400mm
intervals
An expansion gap of 10mm should be left around the floor in each room to
allow the wood to expand. Solid wood flooring is affected by changes in the
levels of humidity during the Summer and Winter months which cause it expand
and contract.
