About Us
GRP
Structures Limited is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire along the South Coast in
England. We are a traditional family run business and have a wealth of knowledge
in fibreglass and GRP utilising first class materials and exploiting the versatility
of fibreglass with our technical team assisting architects to achieve their imaginative
designs over the last 25 years.
Products
Canopies
Fibreglass canopies and door surrounds are an inexpensive way of both setting
off a doorway and providing protection to the door and visitor alike. We have
an extensive range of canopies which are suitable for all types of housing and
our utility range has proved especially popular with local authorities and housing
associations.
Some of the units can be used to provide feature canopies to
first and second floor balconies, supported with wrought iron if needed. Where
canopies cover habitable areas, they are supplied with sprayed foam to provide
insulation and sound proofing.
Cottage Canopies
Handmade Fibreglass
Door Canaopies designed to suit a variety of entrances. These canopies are espcially
popular with local authorities and Housing Associations. They are lightweight,
impervious to rot and require only the minimum of maintenance.
Dormers
Fibreglass has fast become the preferred material, by many architects, for the
manufacture of dormer windows. The use of replicas for both dormer windows and
chimneys helps to resolve planning requirements. Dormer windows can be supplied
with a stone or lead finish and are generally insulated with foam and have internal
carcassing.
Columns
The AlphaRange offers a wide selection of classic
columns from the simplicity of a plain doric column through to fluted columns
with ionic heads. There are also square columns for the more modern taste. All
columns can be supplied together with either complimentary half columns or pilasters.
As a standard, columns are manufactured in white with a smooth finish, but Alpha
can offer all items with a simulated stone finish in either bath or portland stone.
Split columns are supplied for cladding structural steel work.
Porticos
The entrance is usually the focal feature of a house or building and porticos
can be customised to meet clients specific requirements. The units range from
classical pitched pediments, right through to modern styles, including flat, half-round
and curved roofs. The porticos are easy to install, require little maintenance
and will not deteriorate like wood. Normally supplied with a smooth finish, all
units can have a simulated stone, lead or copper finish or any combination of
these.
Roof Turrets
Roof turrets of all sizes are available from
562mm square to more than 3 metres square. All turrets can be supplied either
vented or unvented and if needed can be foam insulated to reduce condensation.
Dovecotes and Clocktowers
Dovecotes, roof turrets and clock towers
all add individuality to a building. Self coloured, lightweight and requiring
single trade fixing – success is assured!
As standard, dovecotes and clocktowers
are manufactured with integral dummy louvres, but where ventilation is required
alumimium louvres can be substituted. (Colour matched to RAL or BS colour ranges.)
Sprayed insulation is also available – this helps to reduce condensation. We also
fit clocks. Dials are available in most colours – and an added service is signwritten
design logos on plain sides. Finials are available on most units and, where required
weathervanes are supplied, usually fitted on site. White bodies with lead look
grey roof are standard but other finishes include a weathered copper roof.
Dentil
Cornice, Fascias and Quoins
Cornice, dentil cornice and fascias provide
finishing details to any category of building, from large offices right through
to private housing.
Mitred corners, stop ends and returns can all be manufactured
and supplied with the cornice, dentil cornice and fascias.
Classical style
and distinction can be added to a variety of buildings with the use of fibreglass
quoins. The mouldings can be supplied with either a smooth or textured finish
and can be colour matched to existing or proposed stone cills.
Whilst we have
a standard range of mouldings, we are always pleased to provide purpose made units
to architects specifications.
Door and Windows Surrounds
With ease
of installation and maintenance at a minimum, the AlphaRange door and window surrounds
are the perfect solution for the upkeep of outside decor.
Often in a conservation
area, property has to be repaired or refurbished in the original style and finish.
Fibreglass can be manufactured to match brick, stone or render and therefore recommends
itself to both architect and builder.
Equally suitable for traditional or
modern buildings our mix and match door heads and pilasters offer an economical
way to enhance entrances.
Chimneys
GRP Structures can offer moulded
fibreglass chimneys that are light, easy to install and which mimic the real thing.
The units can be supplied either to match brickwork or with a rendered finish.
The chimney pots can be manufactured to match any of the standard clay pots.
These
chimneys resolve aesthetic and planning requirements without the large cost of
traditional building. They can be installed by a single trade straight onto rafters
or fitted over a lead dressed upstand.
If appropriate, the chimney can be
adapted to be used for ventilation or flue terminals. | |
