Tensile Architecture
Tensile fabric structures are a dramatic and exciting method of
construction, allowing curvature, translucency and the ability to
spectacularly light both internal and external spaces. Fabric structures are
a unique addition to a building, not only providing the structure of a
building envelope, but also enabling us to consider different methods of
creating environments – rather than boxing space in, fabric structure allow

last generations, and conform to the same structural codes as permanent
buildings.

exceptional spans, and extraordinary illuminated effects. Lighting a
structure can conjure a glowing effect which brings a landmark quality to

Increasing pressure on the construction industry to meet strict codes of
thermal efficiency has led to increased use of insulation. Our in-house team
has developed effective systems to enable high performance envelopes which
allow greater architectural freedom. Fabric offers the option of combining
creativity with practicality by incorporating artwork into the buildings
structural skin.
