A Fire Survival & General Wiring Cable System
Pyro MI is a unique cable type, virtually indestructible with unrivalled
mechanical strength. It also offers excellent product life expectancy,
low smoke and fume, and space & weight saving benefits when compared to
polymeric alternatives.
Fire Survival & Fire Rated Applications - Mineral insulated cables are
the only true fire survival cable. Pyro MI far exceeds the requirements
set out in BS5839-1, fire detection and alarm systems for Buildings –
Part 1. This standard describes two levels of fire performance; Standard
and Enhanced Grade - Pyro MI meets and exceeds both grades of
performance in adherence with the test procedures detailed in BS EN
50200 and BS8434 parts 1 and 2, making it the first choice for fire
performance applications. Its performance is unsurpassed.
Power Applications - MI cables also provide the ideal solution for power
to critical systems. Installation time and cost saving, space and weight
saving, and overall project cost savings can be demonstrated. Due to its
robust but pliable construction, smaller cables can be installed when
compared with polymeric armoured alternatives. Two voltage grades are
available; 500V and 750V (Light duty and Heavy Duty respectively) with
conductor sizes from 1.0.mm˛ to 240mm˛.
Accessories - A full range of cable accessories are available from Tyco
Thermal Controls which are fully compliant with BS EN 60702: Part 2.
Terminations are also available for installations in Hazardous Areas
(Potentially Explosive atmospheres) and carry the BASEEFA ATEX

BS7346-6:2005 - Components for Smoke & Heat Control Systems –
Specification for Cable Systems. This cable standard for life safety,
fire fighting, and property protection for critical systems introduces
new levels of performance testing. Pyro MI cables have been tested,
witnessed and certified to this new high performance specification. The
new integrated test subjects the cable to more realistic fire
conditions; Heat, mechanical shock, and water – all on the same piece of

Multi-Plus
A Multi-purpose Pre-wired Conduit Cable System
Multi-plus is a range of generation of high performance wiring cables
with a proven track record. It is a pliable and robust alternative to
cables in metal or plastic trunking, pre-wired conduit systems, small
armoured cables, and flat twin and earth cables. Improved levels of
cable performance are achieved by the introduction of an aluminium
screen/armour which reduces external interference.
