The SABRE “a”, or advanced range, comprises the complete non-extensible and extensible derivatives to construct the variety of MV switchboard configurations. In addition, the new Air Insulated Metering Unit (AMU) provides a lightweight and compact solution for customer HV connections. The SABRE advanced range is considered one of the most compact products around.

In terms of electrical performance, all units are rated at 15.5kV and up to 20kA short time current and fault making duty. Today’s vacuum technology offers high performance and delivers over 10,000 full load operations and current ratings up to 630A. This optimum use of vacuum technology also lowers the impact on the environment and contributes to a greener future.

Our 630A circuit breakers have now been equipped with the option of a fully rated earth and testing facility, and can therefore suit mid-circuit applications as a protected circuit breaker.

Optimal Safety

The user friendly, operation fascia panels with clearer switch/ CB status indications and mimic diagrams contributes to a simpler and concise mode of operation. Integral cable test access and interlocking have also been significantly improved to facilitate testing procedures.

The SABRE “a” range complies with the latest IEC standards and the enhanced requirements of ENATS 41-36 Issue 2. Internally arc-tested cable boxes are also available to give operators and the general public even greater reassurance.

Automated Ring Main Units - Sabre Vacuum Circuit Breakers

The SABRE “a” range of non-extensible and extensible ring main equipment can be pre-wired for automation providing motorization of ring switches and circuit breakers to suit the application. The motorized actuators are simple plug-in upgrade kits. Together with our latest generation of GEMINI Remote Terminal Units, the G2-RTU is capable of controlling up to four switching functions and provides the telecontrol interface to most SCADA or DMS systems. In essence, a fully automated ring main unit can be factory-built with the G2-RTU mounted on the side of the SABRE VRN2a or, alternatively, mounted on a floor stand or wall bracket.

Our GEMINI range of products and systems include the GEMINI Data Concentrator and SCADA to provide the necessary building blocks for a complete distribution automation solution. Our in-house Automation division can provide the required expertise for the system design, integration, commissioning, product training and support of our automated switchgear to meet your particular requirements.

J-Type Multi Distribution Service Board

The range of products have the following features:

• Compact modular design
• Tested to BS EN 60439
• Fused incoming, suitable for J type fuses 92mm centres, up to 500A
• Outgoing SP cut-outs, 100A rated, with staggered busbar design to enable maximum access for service cabling
• IP3X with the door closed, IP2X with the door open, making the product suitable for live working
• Single piece busbar to minimise potential hot spots
• Incoming cables up to 300mm2, 3 and 4 core can be easily installed
• 4 core kit is supplied as an accessory and is fitted easily on site
• Steel wired armoured cable is accommodated with the use of a gland plate accessory
• Door can be easily removed, without tooling, to reduce weight during installation
• Door can be changed to either LH or RH on site
• Door is pad-lockable and wire sealable
• Available as left hard or right hand cable entry in 15, 24, 30 and 45 way sizes
• 2J versions enable a second supply to be taken out, ie for mixed development
