Medium Voltage Products
Products for voltage levels up to 36,000V from Eaton switchgear systems
and components, which play an essential part in electricity distribution
networks and the power supply of industrial plants, especially where a
high degree of flexibility, reliability and safety is required. Systems
feature either epoxy resin insulation or metalclad construction and are
provided with circuit breakers and switches equipped with Eaton vacuum
interruptors. The design, manufacture and service procedures comply with
the highest quality and safety standards.
Motor Control Centres
The international standard for design, construction and testing of low
voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies, IEC60439-1, provides for
two fundamental approaches. Type Tested Assemblies – where performance
is paramount, and Partially Type Tested Assemblies – where performance
is calculated to balance the demands of the operation.
Eaton’s knowledge and understanding of the application of all relevant
IEC standards and statutory requirements assures that assemblies not
only satisfy the PTTA or TTA design and construction needs but also
prevent costly and potentially harmful failure.
LV Packaged Substations
Packaged substations are an increasingly popular commercial solution
saving cost by reducing the amount of cabling between the switchboard
and the transformer. Space is also saved by eliminating the need to
segregate by room.
A typical indoor packaged substation comprises a power transformer and a
low voltage switchboard assembled together to form a complete unit. Due
to the number of variations possible each substation is the subject of
an individual design exercise aimed at producing the optimum arrangement
for a given installation.
