 Automatic Load Shedding

Our new modular, automatic load shedding unit provides staged switching of switchboard outgoing devices or plant items. The unit’s compact design enables easy incorporation within our switchboard. Control is from an incomer mounted current transformer and up to 8 stages of load shedding can be independently adjusted offering the following functionality…

Control of current without memory: When the value of the control current reaches the threshold displayed on the front face, the output relay changes state at the end of a time delay. It returns to initial state instantly when the current drops below the hysteresis threshold or when the power is disconnected.

Over current function (Upper): The power-on time delay prevents current peaks. The delay on upward crossing of the threshold provides immunity to transients and other interference, thereby preventing spurious triggering of the output relay.

Under current function (Under): The power on time delay prevents the occurrence of current troughs. The delay on downward crossing of the threshold provides immunity to random dips, thereby preventing spurious triggering of the output relay.
• Threshold and hysteresis is separately adjustable
• Selection of Over-current or Under-current is by means of a dip switch
