THE TOTAL ECLIPSE . . .

When we introduced the Eclipse to the UK market at the start of the millennium, we were confident of its success . . . we have not been disappointed.
With the patented single coil magnetic actuator, together with vacuum interruption and the simplicity of air insulation in a fixed pattern design, the Eclipse has the winning edge that it needs in this increasingly competitive market.

The fixed pattern design of the Eclipse eliminates the need for withdrawing the circuit breaker and hence the need for the associated racking mechanism, shutter assemblies, isolating contacts and secondary contacts. Together with an extensive use of insulated mouldings and, in particular, the leading edge design of the patented single coil magnetic actuator; the total parts count has been reduced by a factor of x20 and the number of moving parts by a factor of x50, resulting in a virtually maintenance free design. This compactness and flexibility is what makes the Eclipse ideal for containerised solutions and applications that require the use of compact spaces.

The superior operator safety that it affords, together with its simplicity of design and operation, only enhances the Eclipse’s attraction further.

Appreciated in every business sector from building services to the UK’s DNO’s, the Eclipse currently holds the position as UK market leader for 11kV indoor switchgear, securing over 50% of the market. There are now over 5500 Eclipse panels in use through out the world, with over 20% supplying the global building services market.

Within the UK building services market, the Eclipse has been supplied to a wide cross section of business sectors and customers. To name but a few: Canary Wharf Estate, where 122 Eclipse panels have been supplied so far; a number of new state-of-the-art hospitals (Addenbrooke Hospital, Cambridge; Great Western, Swindon; Baglan Hospital; John Radcliffe Hospital); major airport authorities (including Gatwick and Heathrow); Universities; Exhibition centres e.g. The Excel Exhibition Centre, London Docklands; Retail complexes; and Football Stadiums / Arenas e.g. the new Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

Designed to provide a lifetime of unrivalled service, there is no doubting that reliability; quality and integrity are all central to the design of the Eclipse. With these core qualities at the helm, the Eclipse continues to build its successful reputation and technical expertise through out the building services market, providing one of the most technically advanced, yet lowest lifetime costs for, fixed pattern metal clad medium voltage switchgear applications available in the market today.
