VEKA - History Timeline

VEKA started life in Germany in 1969 & has lived a long & full life since then.

1969 - VEKA was founded in Germany as VekaPlast.

1986 - VekaPlast expanded enough to build a production unit in the UK in Burnley, Lancashire.

1991 - The name is VEKA now and, along with yet more expansion, the company hits the road with the 'Big Rig', the £250,000 Mobile Exhibition Unit.

1993 - VEKA takes on plc status - and expands yet again, to Phase V.

1996 - The launch of Network VEKA, a unique partnership of extruder, fabricators and installers to deliver the quality message straight to the consumer.

1998 - VEKA takes on more new customers than any year to date.

2002 - Massive expansion plan announced, to add the state-of-the-art warehousing facility that will more than double the size of the Burnley unit to a massive 380,00sq ft.

2008 - VEKA launch their new Vertical Slider and Fully Reversible windows.

2011 - Acquisition of Bowater Building Products, including Halo. VEKA celebrates 25 years manufacturing in the UK.

2013 - State-of-the-art multi-million pound mixing plant built at Burnley site.

2014 - Launch of the new VEKA and Halo Approved Installer Scheme, working in partnership with Fabricators.

2015 - Winners of Burnley Business Award 'Business of Year' for second time running.

2016 - Winners of the EEF Future Manufacturing National Business Award for Business Efficiency.
