There are many different types of suspended ceiling grid systems and infill materials available in the market place. Our seminar discusses the properties and merits of these products, as well as their application within various market sectors. It touches on the basic terms associated with Acoustics, exploring sound, frequency and reverberation time, as well as room and building acoustics in broad terms. It contains a case study summarising these points, and also explains CE Marking and Fire Classification.
Acoustics is a complex science. Our seminar deals with the most important facts that specifiers should consider in relation to acoustics and suspended ceiling systems in a clear and concise way. By exploring the terms normally encountered when discussing room and building acoustics, it looks at sound and frequency, and their relationship to hearing and speech; room acoustics and the relationship between reverberation and absorption as well as the insulation of airborne sound within buildings. It also contains two case studies which summarise all the points we discuss, showing how suspended ceilings can positively influence acoustics in the built environment.
