Course Description
An intensive, introductory 2 day course covering a wide subject field, ideal for those: New to the industry or with limited experience of A C & R systems / Seeking to obtain basic knowledge of A C & R by attending a formal course / Keen to use it as a stepping stone to the more advanced Modules 2 and 3

Course Description
A more advanced course covering a wide subject field - from installation of a system, including its pipework, through to commissioning of the system and final hand over - ideal for: Existing installation, service, project, application or commissioning engineers Anyone wanting to build on their existing knowledge of A C & R systems, and their role in modern buildings, as provided by Module 1

Knowledge Gained

  • Basic fundamentals of commissioning A C systems Tools and equipment needed for the testing of air and water flow, temperature and electrical components
  • Sound brazing practices
  • Health & Safety aspects of working with various gases
  • Delegates will also be able to safely and effectively: Carry out pressure testing and evacuation Reclaim and charge refrigerants

Module 3: Design principles - Mechanical

Course Description
An intensive 3 day course ideal for: Potential A C & R system designers, sales, application and project engineers seeking an in-depth appreciation of design, specification and installation to hand over of reliable and energy efficient systems Those wishing to build on existing knowledge gained from previous experience or who have attended Modules 1 and 2 Installation and maintenance engineers seeking a broader understanding of A C design and how they can further improve the efficiency of the system

ConstructionSkills F-gas J11 - Category 1 - Mechanical

Course length: 3 days – various dates available

Course Description
Engineers carrying out leak testing, refrigerant recovery, installation or Service & Maintenance on systems containing more than 3kg of refrigerant

Knowledge Gained
This course gives you mandatory F-Gas certification for a period of five years as required by EC Regulation 842/2006. You will also be familiar with:

  • Current legislation and environmental concerns
  • Causes and effects of ozone depletion and global warming
  • Reclaim and recycling of refrigerants
  • Important commissioning techniques leading to a more efficient energy cycle
  • Pipework and brazing skills
  • Pressure Enthalpy diagrams and the Vapour Compression Cycle

ConstructionSkills J04 & J05 – Pipework & Brazing* - Mechanical

Course length: 2 days – various dates available

A practical course ideal for A/C or refrigeration engineers who carry out installation & assembly work associated with pipework/brazing

  • Produce quality leak-proof joints working with different copper line diameters & brazing material alloys both in commercial and industrial applications
