Danfoss Drives wins Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year Award

AC variable speed drive expert Danfoss Drives has won the much-coveted Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year Award at this year’s ACR News Awards. The award was presented at a ceremony that took place in The Tower Hotel in London, where many of the biggest names in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry gathered to celebrate the achievements of the sector over the past twelve months.

After a rigorous decision-making process – which saw a panel of experts carefully review every entry in detail – the Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year award was made to Danfoss Drives’ Enhanced VLT Refrigeration Drive FC103. The judges were impressed with the drive’s use of refrigeration-specific language and terminology for configuration, which eliminates many of the perceived difficulties of using variable speed drives in refrigeration applications, and makes the FC103 particularly easy to install, set-up and maintain.

After the awards had been presented, the evening provided an opportunity for guests to give a little back to the ACR News Awards charity, Help for Heroes, in the form of a game of ‘Head and Tails’.

Danfoss Drives UK & IE country manager Alan Baird commented: “We were delighted the judges bestowed such an important accolade on our FC103 drive, which completely supports our view that it’s such a great product! A lot of work has gone into developing this drive so it really matches the needs of the refrigeration sector. The feedback we have had from the end users has been incredibly positive and the energy savings that can be achieved with the FC103 are very impressive. Add to that the unparalleled support we provide for all our drives at every stage in their life cycle, and I hope you’ll agree the judges made a very good choice!”

The Innovation Award 2015 was awarded to Danfoss Drives at the Daikin European Supplier Conference on 6th May, 2015, held in Prague. Daikin is a worldwide company; a leader in air-conditioning systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

This is the second year that the most representative suppliers have been invited to Prague to be told about Daikin’s current status, strategies, future developments, forecasts and expectations.
