Terracotta Cladding - Rainscreen Cladding - Ventilated Facades - Ceramic Cladding
Telling Architectural offer leading expertise in the innovative design and management of rainscreen claddings and lightweight steel walling.
Distributing a range of systems in the UK, Ireland and the USA, we offer an unequalled level of technical sales and advisory services including structural calculations, conceptual and project design and budget costs. Our activities have extended from a core business of Argeton terracotta to include ceramic, natural stone, porcelain and glass rainscreens selected from proven manufacturers throughout Europe.
Telling actively participate in the installation of our systems by providing experienced contract support managers and project supervision where requested.
Terracotta Rainscreens are manufactured by Argeton whose process has been significantly expanded under the acquisition by Wienerberger. Their investment in the manufacturing plant have created the most advanced kilns and profile extrusion capability including on line glazing. Innovation in tile profiles, glazing and development of iridescent finishes has resulted in a significant expansion of overseas opportunities. Recent testing has proven that tiles can be used in both a horizontal and vertical orientation. BBA approval and BREEAM product profiling have been secured.
Porcelain from leading European manufacturers enable larger formats to be created and ceramic tiles by Ceramica Mayor offer fired patterns and colours to meet increasing demands for corporate livery in façades.
Airtec lightweight concrete panels faced with natural stone and glass by Alsecco (UK) Ltd along with BIPV's raincreen façades offering an exciting extra dimensions to our services.
Fundermax high pressure laminates and GFRC panels have extended our range of large format claddings.
All systems utilise the proven principle of the ventilated cavity, creating a condensation free and thermally efficient cladding whose components are suited to modern architecture. The natural beauty and symmetry of the tile/panel formats lies in the precise and clean lines achieved without overlapping.
Telling Architectural façades interface readily with alternative forms of curtain walling, glazing and insulated render systems to provide flexibility of design in the creation of an individual style.
Lightweight steel wall design, supply and prefabrication are undertaken at our new manufacturing facilities in Wolverhampton.
Our rainscreens are tested for compliance with all European and British standards for ventilated non load bearing structural cladding systems. Natural clay and ceramic tiles are available in grids of up to 1500mm in length and 400mm in height. Porcelain panels are available in sizes up to 1200mm x 600mm in height. Stone and glass panels can be supplied storey height panels up to 1.30 metres in width. The weights of the systems are between 40-50 kgs/m² with the supply of the aluminium substructure included to ensure control over the performance of the complete system. Our systems are tested at the Vinci Laboratories in Leighton Buzzard for compliance with CWCT Standards, a pre-requisite for NHBC approval.
Smooth faced natural clay tiles in thirteen colours, ‘structured’ or glazed ceramics, polished riven or matt porcelain and twenty natural stone panels are offered from our extensive range External corners and linings to windows can be formed in powder coated aluminium, mitred or created as prefabricated stone panels. Ancillary trims can be selected either to contrast or blend with the colour of the facade selected.
Our façades can be installed in both refurbishment and new construction upon backgrounds of blockwork, concrete, lightweight steel, SIPS and timber walling.
Standard sections and details assist the designer in the selection of appropriate interface details. REVIT & BIM systems are under development. Structural calculations for the support structure, wind speeds and any loadings that may be applicable are undertaken by in-house engineers. Calculations are project specific, particularly in refurbishment where the age and condition of the fabric will require analysis for structural integrity.
Our technical expertise and design support reduce the workload and responsibilities upon the consultant/contractor in interfacing and programming.
