Armourplan PVC Single Ply

The only UK manufactured single ply roofing membrane; Armourplan PVC can achieve a BREEAM Green Guide rating of A+. Exclusive to SIG D&T, Armourplan is versatile in either new build or refurbishment, quick and simple to install, covers workmanship in the warranty and is competitively priced. Guaranteed for up to 20 years with BBA life expectancy in excess of 30 years, it offers exceptional mechanical properties, a choice of colours, high UV resistance, secure seam welding and a complete range of ancillaries. Armourplan membrane welds easily for homogenous, reliable joints. Its tough, sleek “skin” can be enhanced with additional features e.g. standing seam profiles. The three prime membranes are: Armourplan SM for mechanically fixing; SG fleece-backed for adhered applications; and Armourplan P (premium), with enhanced UV stability, delivers the strongest mechanical performance.

Rhepanol PIB Membrane

Rhepanol PIB single ply (made from polyisobutylene) is the most eco-friendly membrane in the world and comes with a full Life Cycle Assessment. Rhepanol roofs offer highly aesthetic design solutions including curved and look-alike metal and standing seam finishes.

There are three membrane types:

• Requiring no hot works, Rhepanol fk is perfect for both new build and refurbishment and can be installed directly over bitumen. Rhepanol fk has a self-sealing edge and installation is as easy as 1-2-3. Installers just follow a simple and safe procedure: roll out the membrane, remove the tape to seal the joints, and roll over the seam
• Rhepanol fk in white maximizes energy capture in photovoltaic applications
• Rhepanol hg is suitable for intensive, extensive and landscaped green roofs, is hot-air-welded and has full FLL certification as a root and rhizome barrier

Built-up & Modular Green Roofing Systems

Demand for living and planted roofs has exploded in recent years as projects vie to demonstrate their eco-credentials by opting for the visual and performance benefits a green roof provides. Green roofs can capture carbon and are either built-up or modular. SIG Design & Technology partners with horticultural specialist, Blackdown Green Roofs to design, supply, install and maintain green roofs that are guaranteed to stay green for the length of the membrane life i.e. in excess of 20 years.

The Built-up system can be constructed on site if a complicated roof, blends into the landscape, can use indigenous planting and is a last minute application as there is no need to pre-grow.

The Modular Green Roof system is simple to install and affordable. Needing no irrigation, the system uses pre-grown established plants and is lightweight. Plants are pre-grown so they are strong and robust and at less risk of wind uplift or erosion. Modules sit on top of the waterproofing and can be temporarily removed for future alterations, additions or inspections. The self-weight of the system means no penetrations or fixings are required, so the membrane stays in place and watertight.

Living Wall Systems

Three living walls systems make a contribution to aesthetics and sustainability. WallPlanter is a living wall solution that provides an instant fully grown green façade and can be fitted to new and existing walls or buildings. Aluminium planters contain fully mature plants trained onto high quality steel mesh and are provided with water and nutrition by fully automated irrigation systems.

LivePanel is a modular construction and can be used both inside and out. Panels are easily adjusted to suit the application and it offers temperature, fire and sound insulating properties. Modules contain a specially developed substrate so that plants can thrive and panels are stacked onto the face of the building and secured by an aluminium frame. Suitable for roof gardens, hardstanding, gardens, playgrounds, offices and graffiti prevention.

GreenScreen is a 5mm weldmesh galvanised high carbon steel security fence which increases the biodiversity footprint and reduces pollution. It provides instant privacy with three planting options, Ivy, Hornbeam or Beech. The system is very cost effective and low in maintenance with an expected lifespan of 45 years. Extensions to 4m in height are available.
