RIEGENS LightingEnergy Efficient Lighting SolutionsRiegens has a voice and we intend to use itLighting accounts for 17.5% of global electricity use, and has a profound effect on climate change and air pollution. Artificial light enables us to see when daylight is absent or insufficient or when night falls. This is a privilege our fellow creature inhabitants don’t need and don’t want. We must pay for this privilege by harnessing our skills, our resources and our resolve to develop increasingly efficient lighting systems and methods of using them. Riegens will promote the use of energy efficient lamps and control gear. We will promote the use of advanced reflector optics. A typical luminaire absorbs more than 50% of the light emitted by the light source, the most efficient absorbs less than 10%. Riegens will promote the accurate measurement of installed illuminance levels and campaign for internationally agreed standards for identical spaces. We will promote the use of lighting control systems, turn lights off when no one is present and dim artificial light in response to rising daylight levels. At Riegens we will continue to invest in the energy efficiency of our own manufacturing facilities in Denmark and the United Kingdom, to ensure our products are produced as we intend them to be used. Riegens are planning with technology for the protection of our environment. Riegens CatalogueThe new Riegens Lighting specification catalogue breaks new ground, inspiring the specifier and lighting designer to experiment with different types of illumination and the enhancement of form and features. Content, style and ease of use are unbeatable as luminaires are sectioned into clear, precise product groups. Riegens’ new 330 page catalogue presents the user with very tangible benefits. These extend way beyond the simple selection of light fittings. Luminaires for every possible application are included, some launched earlier this year to a hail of good publicity. About 100 products are detailed, with clear photographs and concise text that makes specification simple. Riegens are also using the catalogue as an opportunity to promote the use of energy efficient lamps and control gear, whilst encouraging the accurate measurement of installed illuminance levels and campaigning for internationally agreed standards for identical spaces. For anyone involved in the design, purchase or
specification of lighting this publication is essential.
