WINDCATCHER X-Air® Natural Ventilation Systems

Monodraught WINDCATCHER X-Air systems encapsulate prevailing wind and carry that wind force down into the room below to provide fresh air for natural ventilation. The system is divided internally into four quadrants so that the leeward side of the system acts as a passive stack for removing stale air from the building. Volume control dampers within the system regulate the amount of ventilation, according to the requirements. WINDCATCHER X-Air natural ventilation systems can eliminate the need for air conditioning during summer months and provide all the benefits of free night cooling without compromising the security of the building.

The systems are manufactured from recyclable materials with excellent structural and UV stability. The patented corner fin accommodates a patented LED architectural lighting feature, which allows a range of optional colour preferences to be specified. Other features improve performance, these include: ACTIVLOUVRE® modulating aerofoil technology featuring specially designed louvre blades that combine to minimise resistance and maximise airflow; and an internal system that provides significantly smoother internal airflow.

WINDCATCHER® GRP Natural Ventilation Systems

WINDCATCHER Classic and Heritage natural ventilation systems are manufactured from GRP. The range includes square, circular and oval systems, as well as feature Turret systems. The GRP manufacturing process allows for special bespoke designs and sizes to be provided to suit the exact building requirements. The Classic and Heritage ranges are available to any BS or RAL colour.

SUNPIPE® Natural Daylight Systems

Monodraught SUNPIPE natural daylight systems consist of a silverised mirror-finish aluminium tube that carries daylight down into the room below. SUNPIPE systems include a patented Diamond dome. There is virtually no heat loss in winter months and solar gain is minimised during summer months. Monodraught manufacture a range of 6 standard sizes from 230mm to 1000mm diameter

The Monodraught SUNCATCHER natural ventilation and daylight systems provide controlled natural ventilation by utilising the Monodraught WINDCATCHER natural ventilation system’s principle and natural daylight from the SUNPIPE natural daylight system within one composite unit

Solar-Powered Systems

Monodraught also incorporate solar power into their natural ventilation systems wherever possible, there are three products with solar assistance; SOLA-BOOST® solar assisted natural ventilation systems and Sola-Extract are enhancements to the WINDCATCHER range. SOLA-BOOST provides additional ventilation under sun power during summer months and can increase the throughput of ventilation air by the system and Sola-Extract is used in conjunction with cross flow ventilation, typically from openable windows, to provide powered extract ventilation – but without any electrical power. SOLA-VENT® natural daylight and solar powered extract ventilation systems are the solar powered bathroom extract vent, which also incorporates the SUNPIPE natural daylight system for energy-free operation.

COOL-PHASE® Low Energy Cooling & Ventilation System

COOL-PHASE is a low energy cooling and ventilation system that creates a comfortable, fresh and healthy indoor environment while reducing the running costs of our buildings. COOL-PHASE uses a thermal energy store utilising a phase change material (PCM) in combination with intelligently controlled air handling unit to actively cool and ventilate the building. The COOL-PHASE system can maintain temperatures within the comfort zone, while radically reducing energy consumption by up to 90%, compared to a conventional cooling system. Unlike conventional cooling approaches COOL-PHASE uses no refrigerants making it an environmentally sound solution for cooling our buildings.
