TarmacDense, Lightweight Aggregate and Aircrete Concrete BlocksTarmac Topblock, part of Tarmac's Building Products group, is the
UK's leading manufacturer of concrete blocks with specifications to
match the most demanding of building requirements. With a unique product
range including dense, lightweight aggregate and aircrete blocks, Tarmac
Topblock is able to offer a product for every application from an
extensive network of production facilities. Durox Aircrete wall blocksSupablocKey applications are solid walls, loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls. Supabloc (3.6N/mm²) is primarily used to form the loadbearing inner leaf of cavity walls. Other key applications are solid walls, below dpc, and partitions both loadbearing and non-loadbearing. Supabloc 4, 7 and 10Durox Supabloc 4 may be used to form cavity separating walls. Other
key applications include the rendered outer leaf of cavity walls, below
dpc, and in situations where 4.2N/mm² compressive strength is demanded. Supabloc 7, and 10 meet the compressive strength criteria specified in
the Building Regulations Approved Document A. Suitable for multi-storey
applications, it may be used in outer and inner leaves of cavity walls,
internal partitions (loadbearing and non-loadbearing), below dpc, and in
cavity separating walls. System 500, 600 and 700Durox System is recognised as a Modern Method of Construction (MMC) combining the thermal efficiency of larger format Durox aircrete with the significant productivity gains associated with the use of thin layer mortars. System is produced in three strengths, 3.6, 4.2 and 7.3N/mm², and in a range of coursing heights. Its primary applications are the inner leaf of external walls and solid external walls as well as cavity separating walls. Foundation BlocksDurox Foundation blocks form a solid wall below dpc, to support solid or cavity walls. Because of its excellent insulating properties, the product provides perimeter insulation to ground floors. Construction time may be halved compared to cavity construction. Wall ties and cavity fill are no longer needed and the risk of collapsed cavities is eliminated. The wall also becomes stable soon after laying. Durox Foundation blocks are available in 3.6 and 7.3N/mm strength. Floor BlocksDurox Floor blocks are suitable for use in beam and block ground and internal* floors. They are light and quick to install, and form an immediate working platform which will also provide effective sound and thermal insulation. Coursing bricks or slips are available for use with this product. When installed as a ground floor they contribute towards the thermal insulation of the floor by reducing the amount of additional insulation that is required. Independent tests show that the sound reduction (Rw) of a beam and block internal floor exceeds the requirements of the Building Regulations. * refers to internal floors in houses
