Wet Room Drains - Shower Room Drains
Purus is the leading Swedish manufacturer of drainage and plumbing products, and has recently launched into the UK market to meet the expanding demand for wet rooms and walk in showers. The products are available nationwide through leading plumbing and heating suppliers.
Purus’ wet room drains are available in a variety of shapes and sizes including linear, square and triangle formats to meet most wet room requirements. The surface strainer comes in eight different horizontal lengths, from 300mm to one metre, and eight different stylish designs. In addition a square strainer also is available in sizes from 155mm to 200mm. All the drains in the range can remove up to 1.2 litres of water per second and prices start from £193.
Wetrooms are a good solution for smaller bathrooms where space is an issue; by removing the bath a stylish and spacious room can be created. Wetrooms have become increasingly popular in recent years as people have moved away from baths to shower rooms. They are now very fashionable and are increasingly featured in home and interior publications as the latest ‘must have’. Not only are they in vogue but they are also easy to maintain and clean. They make a great solution for care homes, social housing, hospitals and hotels as Wetrooms are safe to use and easy to access.
The company is the only manufacturer to offer a tiled drainage trap which provides an uninterrupted tile design across the wet room floor in the customer’s preferred tiling design.
Purus floor drains have been designed to meet the exact requirements for design, functionality and safety and comply with the British Board of Agrément standards.
They have been designed to be shallow, which makes them ideal for cramped or restricted areas where space can be a problem. The drains can be fitted in concrete floors and under suspended wood floors making them ideal for upper floors of a property. Purus drains also contain an odour trap as standard. This means that bad air cannot come through the drain even if it is dry. This feature also ensures that water will not rise up into the room if the waste pipe becomes blocked.
Purus drains can be adjusted in height giving greater flexibility for a range of tiles. The drains are also designed to be fitted in conjunction with a waterproof membrane and can as well be used for vinyl flooring. Altogether Purus wet room drains offer the broadest range of technical solutions.
Purus have also recently launched the Purus Connector in the UK, which is designed to connect and seal between different pipe dimensions. Available in five different sizes and formats, the connectors are type-approved for horizontal and vertical installation, as well as for building and casting into units, and they may be used in combination with one another.
