Primo Furniture established in 1970 from a catering equipment and restaurant
company and originally named Horwood Contract Furniture. The company was
renamed Primo Furniture in 1974. Consequently, due to our practical catering
roots, we are a unique furniture manufacturing company totally committed to
serving the catering industry.
With over thirty years experience and a policy which ensures sales and
design staff understand the detailed requirements of the restaurateur, we
are able to provide well considered advice to our customers in the form of
layout design and general product recommendations.
In 1972, we were responsible for the introduction and design of the now well
known and much copied Multisystem range of combination units for fast food
areas, and in 1973 created the National Restaurant Planning Competition from
an idea proposed by Victor Ceserani MBE for students taking BTEC HND and
degree level courses and this is now in its 27th ,year.
Over the years, our range of furniture and ancillary items has expanded
extensively to include almost all furniture required within the hotel
environment to provide our customers with a one stop shopping facility.
In the summer of 2001, the company was the subject of a management buyout
led by previous Sales Director, Chris Mortelmans, and Production Director,
Leslie Pollock, and continues to develop its policy to primarily serve the
requirements of the catering environment.
The company's activities include product design and manufacture as well as
being augmented by selected imports to provide a comprehensive choice of
contemporary designs for our customers' consideration.
Design Services
Our in house design team, led by Alan Routledge, utilizes state of the art
computer aided technology for product design and furniture space planning
for restaurant layouts, as well as bespoke items of furniture and interior
colour schemes.
