Timber and paint Supplies was founded in 1976 by
Don Hunt, a builder that rented a small office in Muswell Hill to
get extra business for building work and general DIY supplies.
The demand was very high and after a few months business was
booming. The place up the road came up for sale, Don jumped at the
opportunity for a bigger shop and expanded Timber and Paint Supplies
to a larger location, in 1985.
The two buildings used to be stables for the London buses. Don then
turned the old Timber and Paint Supplies into a picture framing
shop, which was very popular, and serves to some of the most popular
celebrities like Tim Pigott-Smith, an actor, and one of the singers
from Spandau Ballet.
Don used one of the larger buildings as Timber and Paint, and rented
the other building to a piano company. The piano shop relocated, and
later the piano shop was converted into a show room for Tim Moss
Interiors, currently ran by Tim Moss, and Les Hunt, who are
specialists in making bespoke kitchen furniture.
After many successful years of running Timber and Paint Supplies,
and the picture framing shop, Don retired in 2002 and sold the
picture framing shop to Graham Sterling and Perter Wermal, and gave
Timber and Paint Supplies to his son Paul Hunt, who now runs Timber
and Paint Supplies today.
Timber and Paint Supplies is a well known family run business in the
North London area, and has always been dedicated to giving customers
the best possible service, and value for money.
