Granite has little or no veining and can have solid backgrounds with shiny specks or flecks of crystal throughout the surface. Limestone usually ranges in colour from gray to buff and is usually consistent in colour with little or no veining. Limestone sometimes has imbedded fossils, iron streaks and streaks of calcite as other identifying features. Limestone floors are soft and can be scratched easily. These can be polished by various methods but will generally not achieve a mirror like shine. Marble comes in a wide range of colours usually with veins and variant colours running through it. It ranges from soft to very hard and will polish well to a deep mirror like reflection. The services we offer shouldn't be confused with "cleaning" although we do offer a stone cleaning and polishing service. Each disk range gets progressively smoother until we have a honed finish (smooth and matt). The penultimate part of the system involves polishing with Natural Stone Polishing Powders we have manufactured exclusively for us from Sweden. The Powders contain a fatty acid that works with the calcium in the Limestone to give a deep and enduring shine, of course the Tile can be left honed if required.
