Jacksons Fencing
has recently launched a revolutionary acoustic barrier system for residential
use, that offers excellent protection against noise pollution. Functionality doesn't
have to be compromised by style, as this new system proves. Natural timber cladding
on the steel posts, together with optional gravel boards and capping rails has
greatly improved the appearance of what was traditionally highway fencing.
Manufactured
to last using hot dip galvanized steel posts and Jakcure pressure treated timber
for a 25 year guarantee; a unique clamping system secures the two together, to
ensure the sound attenuation property of the barrier is maintained. The panels
are constructed from 34mm thickness boards, the edges of which are machined with
a combination of an interlocking "vee" system and tongue and groove effect.
Standard
acoustic barriers average around 2m in height, although Jacksons can manufacture
up to a massive 5m, to meet the requirements of the most demanding sites.

The facts about Jakoustic fencing
Panels
The panels are pre-fabricated in our factory using 34mm boards, nearly 50%
heavier than standard acoustic fencing systems, in panels of 500mm high that interlock.
The edges of the boards are machined with a combination of an interlocking "vee"
coupled with a tongue and groove. This special profile has been carefully developed
to locate the boards in such a way that eliminates gaps the sound will easily
travel through, even when boards shrink and expand with changes in the weather.
The typical fence height is 2.0m although as can be seen from the following data
a height of 3.0m gives a far better level of protection from unwanted noise, and
if required, the fencing can be built to a massive 5.0m which will meet the most
demanding situations. In addition the fence is supplied with a heavy base board
& contoured capping rail to make the fence look as good as it sounds.
Posts
The posts used for most applications, up to a 2.1m high fence, are heavy grade
timber slotted posts which trap the panels thereby ensuring continuous sound insulation.
For fence heights greater than 2.1m they are reinforced with a galvanized steel
section on the back. For highway specification or very high fences galvanized
steel "I " Beam posts are used. In order to continue the environmentally friendly
appearance the posts are finished with a timber cover board to enhance the visual
appearance of the post As with all Jacksons timber products, the timber has been
treated with the unique Jakcure process which guarantees the products for 25 years
against rot and insect attack, it also complies with highways standard for timber
treatment.
This is a product that has been put through vigorous tests and
development until it reached the high standard Jacksons have come to expect from
all our products.
