Churchwood DesignChurchwood Design based in Tideswell in the Derbyshire Peak District, is a long established family run business that specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke solid wooden kitchens and furniture, including oak kitchen doors and oak kitchen units. Bespoke Oak Kitchen FurnitureEvery commission undertaken is unique. There are no standard materials, units, doors or sizes and each piece is built and hand-finished by skilled craftsmen. This enables the kitchen to be ideally suited to your home, lifestyle and budget and allows it to be matched to an existing piece of furniture if desired. We offer an all inclusive service from design through to installation which is available throughout the mainland UK and as we are a small business, you will always receive a personal level of service. If you desire the luxury and flexibility that a bespoke purpose-built kitchen offers but are deterred by the extravagant price-tags of many companies, then we may be able to bring your dreams to life. Our kitchens start at £7,000 and a guide-line price for an average sized kitchen including appliances, worktops and fitting is £13,000. Further examples of the cost of our kitchens are given in the ‘Project Portfolio’ section. We believe that in comparison to our competitors, the quality and value that we provide is hard to beat. Character OakIt isn’t difficult to see why our New English Oak kitchens have proved so popular. The beautiful, light honey-coloured timber lends itself to any setting and the choice of wood available means that we can select the timber to suit the style you want, while its durability and stability make it a practical choice. ‘Character’ grade oak is by far the most popular. The well defined grain pattern and ‘cats-paw’ knots make this an interesting and attractive timber that works equally well in contemporary or traditional homes. A cleaner oak with straighter grain and fewer knots is also available which complements a more contemporary setting. Oak takes stain extremely well to produce a range of colours, from a shade darker than its natural colour to dark ‘jacobean’ oak. This combined with the large range of door styles available means that we can build you a unique product. Solid hardwood carcasses are used throughout in all our hardwood kitchens. Drawers are dovetailed front and rear, the doors have mortice and tenon joints and are hung from the wooden frame using solid brass butt hinges to ensure long and trouble free use. There are no veneered door panels or chipboard backing boards. The drawers glide on wooden runners and even the adjustable shelf supports are made entirely from wood. |
