recycled plastic

Marmax Products Ltd specialises in creating outdoor furniture from recycled
plastic. The material is manufactured from recycled High Density
Polyethylene (HDPE) from waste collected in the UK, making it endlessly
recyclable. This has the advantage of reducing the need for land fill. It
has the appearance of wood with the advantages of plastic and is used to
make a high quality product that stays attractive and easy to maintain for
many years.
You can see our recycled plastic furniture in local parks, schools, wildlife
parks and many more places.
Why we recycle
Products produced from waste must be useful and viable to be able to compete
in the market place. They must not be seen as second rate, but an equal or
better alternative to what is already available, with the added advantage of
helping to improve the environment. Our products are excellent examples of
this policy in action and can be used in the classroom or playground as
examples of recycling in practice. Recycled plastic is better than timber or
metal, especially when considering the cost of maintenance, both financially
and environmentally.
l
Recycling plastic transforms rubbish into a high quality product
l
One bench uses more than the equivalent of 2000 plastic bottles
l
Recycling reduces the need for landfill sites
l
Our benches become tangible tools when discussing recycling
Marmax boardwalks
Marmax boardwalks are ideally suited for sensitive sites, including
freshwater and marine coastal paths, as they require no chemical treatment
and will not mould or rot, even in salt water.
The long lifespan that makes Marmax so suitable for municipal setting also
reduces the need to disturb wildlife during maintenance
A low maintenance answer to providing safe access for walkers, cyclists and
wheelchair users.
Recycled plastic cannot rot, so on going costs are kept to a minimum. It is
ideal for the damp and acidic ground conditions that can be associated with
Boardwalks, maintaining its appearance without effort. It is hard wearing
and suits both urban and rural situations. Our designs use a WRAP approved
roughened surface for improved grip in wet conditions. The Boardwalk is
available in widths of 1200/1500 and 1800mm, which can be supplied either in
flatpack or fully assembled 3000mm sections. Additonal features include,
handrails, toe rails, passing places, bridges and extended legs.
Recycled plastic remains inert in wet conditions and does not break down.
